Construction continues behind our building but the noise is very little and while we have to walk through it to get to our building it doesn't seem to bother us otherwise.
The space
The beauty of the sea opens up wide: Zicatela’s famous surfing beach and the Punta’s picturesque rocks to the left, waves below, Antarctica looming far to the south with nothing between here and there other than open Pacific Ocean. You have an unobstructed oceanfront view. A1’s penthouse location gives it the most natural light, the best breezes, the most privacy, and the most spectacular views of any unit. It is also the most easily accessed unit in the complex for those with mobility concerns.
King bed in the master with an en-suite bathroom. Second bedroom has 3 twin size beds. All beds have firm, high quality mattresses. The king also has a thick memory foam topper to ensure fabulous sleeps. A1 has an open sky ground level garden off the bedrooms, totally private and secure.
Kitchen has everything you could wish for: modern 4-burner cooktop, large refrigerator/freezer, large microwave with grill, large toaster oven that’s fabulous for baking and roasting, and dishwasher – a rare feature in Puerto. Quality tableware, cooking utensils, coffee maker, kettle, etc.
In-suite washer and dryer.
The folding glass wall between the great room and terrace opens completely to give you indoor/outdoor living. Seven fans throughout provide breezes when mountain or ocean breezes are too gentle to feel refreshing. You probably won’t need any of the four air conditioners, as nature’s breezes are usually sufficient.

High quality deck furniture with thick Sunbrella brand cushions on all seats and loungers, plus a comfortable hammock.
Guest access
A1 is privately yours, but you can also stroll garden walkways toward the ocean and enjoy endless views, two pools, hammocks, sitting areas and more gardens on the rooftop common area. We are a gated community with 24/7 security personnel.
Other things to note
Please note construction on Phase 2 building has begun. While we had to walk through the construction area to access the unit the area is kept as clean and stress free as possible. The construction noise is very little and guests have noted that it doesn't bother them inside.
Ask us directly about monthly discounts. These will vary widely depending on the time of year. Early check in and late check out might be available for a small fee but we cannot promise that either will be available; it will depend on cleaning schedules and the next guests’ arrival time. Please ask us as soon as you know your schedule and we’ll do whatever we can to accommodate your needs.
Please note that La Escondida is a high-end residential community that does not tolerate parties or gatherings with loud music. There are quiet hours to be observed by everyone renting and living here.
Please be aware that COVID-19 affects locals in towns like Puerto disproportionately. While we encourage you to enjoy your time here, we ask that you remain vigilant about the safety of those around you.
